Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Peru

Transfer: Jorge Chavez Lima International Airportto Lima - San Isidro

Hotel: Country Club Lima (5 Star Rating)

Nestled in Lima's prestigious San Isidro district, surrounded by elegant embassies, the Country Club Lima Hotel is a five-star landmark boutique that epitomizes sophistication; and one of the only hotels recognized as a Peruvian national monument. Every detail has been conceived with luxury in mind. Ornate chandeliers complement lofty, wood-beam ceilings, and 300 pieces of original artwork - on loan from the Pedro de Osma Museum - adorn the walls. Each of the 83 private luxury rooms and suites are opulent and welcoming.

Day 2: Exploring Modern & Historic Lima and Visiting the Larco Museum

Today you will learn about the two characters of Lima: the modern one, reflected in the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro; and the historic one, encapsulated in its historic center declared a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Along the tour through different districts of the city, you will see how the old and the modern coexist in buildings such as the Museum of Italian Art, Palace of Justice, Museum of Lima, Plaza San Martín, among others. With your private guide leading the way, you'll explore the center of Lima on foot, with the Main Square as the focal point: a beautiful colonial square worthy of photographs, surrounded by emblematic buildings such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral and the Archbishop's Palace. You will also have the opportunity to enter one of the most iconic ecclesiastical spaces in Lima, the Convent of Santo Domingo, also declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and where the relics of three Peruvian saints are found: Santa Rosa de Lima, San Martín de Porres and San Juan Macías. The tour would not be complete without a visit to the Rafael Larco Herrera Museum, one of the most important in the country, exhibiting a valuable collection of almost 45,000 pieces of pre-Hispanic cultures, especially the Mochicas. Marvel at the quality of its pieces of jewelry, textiles and its enigmatic erotic room, dedicated to ceramics alluding to fertility, and after exploring the museum, you will be returned to your hotel.Lima rewards those who look beyond first impressions. The clifftop district of Miraflores sets a superb tone for a day at leisure; the Malecon walkway traces the Pacific coastline with sweeping ocean views, and the neighbourhood below offers excellent cafe culture and some of the best shopping in the city. For something more immersive, Barranco is just a short ride away, where colourful murals, artists' studios, and the iconic Bridge of Sighs make for a relaxed and locally authentic afternoon. Lima's culinary reputation is well earned; this is indeed one of the great food cities of the world, and an evening at one of its celebrated restaurants is as essential as any landmark. Whether you lean toward a Michelin-worthy tasting menu or a neighbourhood cevicheria, the city rarely disappoints at the dining table.

Day 3: A Taste of Lima: Coffee, Pisco Sour & Huaca Pucllana

Your private-guided gastronomy tour begins with a transfer to a charming garden in the Barranco district of Lima where you will enjoy a cup of organic Peruvian coffee alongside your local guide. After learning a bit about the neighborhood, set out to explore its colorful streets and cultural landmarks, such as the iconic Bridge of Sighs. You'll soon visit a popular local market to sample a few fresh exotic fruits, discover local ingredients, and learn how they have influenced the evolution of local and global cuisine alike. Your next stop will be a restaurant in the nearby district of San Isidro, where you'll sip on a classic pisco sour accompanied by a delicious tasting of dishes that showcase the superfoods that make Peruvian cuisine so popular. Your tour winds down at an iconic restaurant located next to the impressive pre-Inca ruins of Huaca Pucllana. Here, settle in for a selection of gourmet dishes with the spectacular pre-Inca temples as your backdrop. Pairing culture and delicious cuisine and finishing with a return transfer to your hotel, this tour serves as the perfect introduction to Peruvian gastronomy and parts of Lima often overlooked.
