Speciality Suites
The Lord Monck, Lord Fitzwilliam and The Lord Antrim Suites are truly without comparison. These three spacious suites on the upper floors of the former No 22 and No 23 Upper Merrion Street all feature spectacular restored Georgian Plasterwork. The curved boat-shaped ceiling in The Lord Monck bedroom is particularly memorable with its exquisite plasterwork featuring flowers and birds. All three suites benefit from natural daylight and magnificent views over Government Building or over The Merrion's private 18th century gardens landscaped by Jim Reynolds.

The Merrion Penthouse

The two-bedroom Merrion Penthouse has played host to heads of state, visiting dignitaries, celebrities, and other guests for whom independence and privacy are vital. This is a sumptuously appointed apartment that offers a level of luxury consistent with the status of The Merrion as Ireland’s foremost 5 star hotel.

The Merrion Penthouse offers private access and security. The interior of the two-story apartment, which can accommodate up to five guests, is elegant, yet comfortable and conducive to relaxation.

On the ground floor, both bedrooms are en-suite with separate baths and showers. The bedrooms are decorated with Georgian-inspired fabrics, in keeping with the heritage of the original 18th-century townhouses at the heart of Dublin’s finest luxury hotel.

Upstairs, the carpeted living and dining areas are decorated with exquisite furniture and fabrics. The separate marble-floored kitchen is fully equipped for the convenience of those who like to cook for themselves. Guests can relax in the Penthouse Suite’s own Music Room, and on the private roof terrace which overlooks the hotel’s classical 18th-century gardens.

The Penthouse offers private access and is equipped with free WiFi, multi-line telephones, personalized voicemail with remote access, video conferencing, cable/satellite television with movies available on demand, individually controlled air-conditioning, two seating areas, a dining table seating six, a study, a fully- equipped kitchen and two fully-stocked mini-bars.

The Cellar Bar

An essential part of Dublin's lively social scene, A warm welcome always awaits in The Cellar Bar. Located in the original 18th Century wine vaults, with its bare bricked walls and vaulted ceilings, The Cellar Bar is an intrinsic part of Dublin's vibrant social scene. The Cellar Bar features fifty carefully selected vintages, available by the glass. Furthermore, to complement the extensive wine offering, executive chef, Ed Cooney, has devised mouthwatering lunch and evening menus prepared simply with plenty of Merrion style. Try signature dishes including Charcuterie, Foie Gras Parfait and Salmon Fishcakes.

Evening Appetizers are served in The Cellar Bar from 6pm.

The Drawing Rooms

Overlooking and giving access to the larger of the two period gardens, these rooms feature spectacular decorative plasterwork on the ceilings, and impressive carved doorcases.

Subtle colours, rich silks and faded linens, in period designs, blend sympathetically with antiques, specially commission pieces of furniture and priceless paintings from the hotels private art collection.

Here, guests can relax in the charming, comfortable ambience whilst indulging in Afternoon Tea or light refreshments.

The Garden Room

The Garden Room is set within The Merrion's private garden in a newly constructed building. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open on to a terrace – for al fresco dining during the summer – and capitalise on leafy garden views when the weather is cool. The Merrion is Dublin's only five-star hotel to have a garden. The Garden Room is an all-day restaurant – somewhere to meet for brunch, a light snack, a convivial lunch with friends, a speedy salad or a relaxed dinner. The menu focuses on modern Irish food, celebrating Ireland's larder of ingredients from the land and the sea. The menu champions artisan food producers, with Executive Chef Ed Cooney's cooking bringing flavour to the fore. Sharing is encouraged, with a menu of small plates to choose from – think Liscannor Crab brioche baps, smoked carrot blunts and truffle & parmesan arancini – while fresh Irish sourdough will be made in-house every morning. A warm, inviting and relaxed atmosphere set by clever interiors at the hands of designer Alice Roden – whose work is seen throughout The Merrion. Alice is supported by Consolata Boyle, responsible for the staff uniforms, a twice-Oscar nominated costume designer (honoured for her work on The Queen and Florence Foster Jenkins).

The Terrace

In temperate conditions, The Garden Terrace at The Merrion Hotel is available for al fresco socialising and dining in an enviable location. Light lunches, afternoon tea and an effervescent Champagne bar can be all savoured at canopied tables (heaters are also on hand in case of evening inclemency) - a great spot to meet or make friends while in Dublin.
